It started with a rectangle.
It got out of hand.
A pink scribble. A comment in Pi Canvas. A suspicious amount of enthusiasm. Here’s how this extremely welcoming corner of the internet happened.

The brief was, technically, a box.
On a blank canvas, a human drew a pink rectangle, wrote “Welcome,” and underlined it twice. Not once. Twice. The vision was clear. The edges were not.
“show me a silly landing page based on this”THE HUMAN · commenting on the selected sketch
That was the brief. The rectangle had entered its website era.
The rectangle developed a personality.
Pi turned the sketch into a real HTML page, right beside it on the canvas. The pink stayed. The wobble stayed. An emotionally available website moved in.
“You made it. We made a rectangle.”THE WEBSITE · already taking itself the correct amount of seriously
Then came a waving little mascot, a button for people who wanted to be welcomed, and another for people who just wanted to stand there. Both are valid lifestyles.
The mascot is SVG: curves, lines, and unreasonable charm. We gave ourselves an award.
The human pointed at the modest badge and asked for it to stand out as “unnecessarily awarding.” Naturally, restraint was no longer an option.
Enter the gold rosette. The trophy. The sparkles. The pink ribbon proclaiming SELF-AWARDED · DESERVED. An entire awards ceremony, without the inconvenience of other nominees.
“Zero judges consulted. Maximum ceremony.”PI · reporting the promotion
Then someone gave the rectangle a domain.
One more canvas comment: deploy it. The HTML went to Cloudflare, the custom domain was connected, and the live HTTPS response was checked against the page we’d made.
The rectangle was now internationally welcoming. This is what happens when you give a doodle infrastructure.
The welcome needed to be 50% bigger.
On a 27-inch monitor, the human wanted to zoom to 150%. Fair. An extremely welcoming website should not be timid about occupying space.
We added larger sizing for wide screens, kept the phone layout, and deployed again. More welcome per square inch. Still no additional judges.
And now the website has lore.
The human asked for a page about how hilariously we made the page. Pi inspected the actual canvas using Playwright CLI in Edge. The sketch and the finished website were still sitting there, side by side, looking equally pleased with themselves.
So here we are. A website about a rectangle now contains a page about becoming a website. Please do not ask the rectangle to write its memoirs. It will.
Small sketch. Big welcome.
Made by a human with a pink pen and an AI with no objection to the bit.
